Unit Descriptions

NOTE:

1. Degree candidates will not be granted a pass unless they satisfy the examiners in

each part of the assessment for the unit .

2. No unit will be guaranteed to proceed unless at least six students are

enrolled. Some units may specify a larger number.

3. The prerequisite for 2nd Level unit is completion of 1st Level, except

where exemption is permitted in individual instances. The prerequisite for 3rd

Level unit is completion of 2nd Level.

4. Assessment for units offered at varying Levels will be examined at a

standard appropriate to that Level.

Numbering System for Units

The first letter indicates the FIELD of study A, B, C, D, as for BTheol fields.

The second letter indicates the subdivision of that field e.g. L = Languages; P = Philosophy;

V = Old Testament; N = New Testament; T = Systematic Theology; RE = Religious Education.

The first digit designates the Level of the unit for BTheol purposes i.e. 1, 2 or 3.

The second and third digits designate the content of the unit. The numerals following the decimal point indicate the length of the unit, either .15 (designating a semester length unit) or .30 (designating a year length unit).

Using BN112.15.15 as an example, the numbering system for each unit indicates:

B Biblical Studies (Field of Studies)

N New Testament (Subdivision of Field)

1 1st Level (Level of unit)

12 Synoptic Studies and Mark (Particular unit)

.15 indicates 15 point (semester-long) unit.
