Admissions and Enrolment
The United Faculty of Theology offers courses in which the educational facilities of the participating Colleges are co-ordinated on the basis of a common timetable. It is also possible to enrol in one or more single semester units without enrolling in a full degree or diploma course.
• The Faculty reserves the right to cancel or vary unit offerings where circumstances warrant such action.
• Students are encouraged to take units at other Recognised Teaching Institutions (CTC, CCTC, Whitley and YTU) for credit towards the BTheol degree, particularly if the desired units are not available at the UFT. Enrolment for such admission and payment of fees must be made through the UFT office, in addition to fulfilling the requirements of the RTI concerned.
• Students wishing to transfer BTheol enrolment from another RTI to the UFT must present to the UFT office a transcript of units completed and an authorisation of transfer from the Dean of the former RTI.
• Where class numbers need to be limited, after allowing for College students, preference will be given to private students in order of enrolment.
• Students enrolled in Postgraduate MCD awards, who elect to take UFT units, are required to register at the UFT office each year. They are advised to consult with the Dean of the UFT before registering in the unit offerings of the UFT.
Enrolment for 2007
Students may enrol or re-enrol at the UFT office till 14 December 2006 and from 1 February to 15 February 2007.
All enrolments must be approved by the Dean, who is also the Postgraduate Co-ordinator for postgraduate coursework. In the case of students who are re-enrolling, approval may be sought by email.
Enrolment Procedure for New Students
Students wishing to enrol at the UFT for the first time should proceed as follows:
- Contact the UFT office for an appointment with the Dean.
- Bring birth certificate, passport for certified copies and other documentation verifying citizenship.
- Bring VCE or equivalent, original certificates of previous qualifications or certified transcript of studies to this appointment for any possible credits that may be applicable. Probationary enrolment is available for students not holding VCE or equivalent.
- Enrolment forms can be completed at appointment – invoices for payment of fees for graduate and postgraduate students will be sent out from the MCD office.
- All new students are required to provide digital photos via email or if unavailable three photographs of passport size on enrolment. One of these will be required for a student card. Students should write their full name on the back of all photos if not forwarded digitally.
- Students are required to have an email account and inform the office of their address. The office has application forms for Minerva Net. Most communication from the UFT office is by email.
- On enrolment, students may organise a library borrowing card from the Dalton McCaughey Library.
- Final decision on admission rests with the United Faculty of Theology.
- Second semester enrolment must be completed by Monday July 12, 2007. It is advisable however to enrol for second semester units in first semester; payment of unit fee can be made at a later time.
Intention to Complete Degree
Students planning to complete the degree in the current year must indicate this intention on the current enrolment form at the UFT office.
